Last days of spring cleaning

I recently had a burst of energy and felt the need to organize.  A couple of weeks ago, I went through our linen cabinets and got rid of some old sheets and blankets that we haven’t used in a while.  That cleared a couple of shelves.  For...

Remember my tub of fabric?  Well, that’s grown a little bit.  I remembered this blog post about using comic book boards to make mini fabric bolts.  I went back to search for it, and ordered a 100-pack of the boards from amazon.  And, ta da!

Doesn’t it look just like a little fabric shop?  :)  I love being able to see it all on display.  Makes it a lot easier to choose fabric for the next project.  I have to admit, though, having it all displayed like this is a little embarrassing.  If I did one project a week, I still won’t need fabric for a while.  Although my husband is been very supportive of this hobby and turns the other cheek every time a new box from fabric.com appears at the doorstep, I told him I’m not buying more fabric for six months.  So, fabric.com, please stop sending your darn emails!

After organizing my fabric, I felt compelled to file a bunch of papers that have been piling up.  Then, I heard on the news that there are only a few days left of spring, and the newscaster added, only a few more days left of spring cleaning.  Maybe that’s why I’ve had this sudden need to organize.  Only a couple more days until summer, and who wants to be cooped up in the house organizing when summer rolls around.  Next up to organize is my sewing area.

I’ll sign off with a few pictures of the baby girl.  I put her in this onesie to get some pictures for Father’s Day.  She’s starting to get a mind of her own, though, running off and doing her own thing.  She found this random piece of mail advertising some play that’s coming to town and just ran around the house with it while I was trying to get her picture.  Maybe she really wants to see this play?

Apparently, this is what she thinks of posing for pictures:

Take that, mom:

But finally one perfect picture for the world’s best daddy, who even on Father’s Day, got up with the kids, so that mommy could sleep in, because he’s just that awesome.

  1. LOVE the onsie! And yes, for getting up with the kids on Father's day so mommy could get some well deserved rest, he definitely ROCKS!
